MODERN TECHNOLOGIES AND THE MODERNIZATION OF THE POLISH ARMED FORCES, ROBERT KRZYSZTOF ŁUKAWSKI

The article presents the systemic solutions in the area of the process of acquiring military equipment adopted by the sector of national defence. A constructive criticism of certain elements of these solutions is presented as a result of the activities of the Inspectorate for the Implementation of Innovative Defence Technologies (I3TO). The article discusses the issues concerning the organizational model developed by I3TO and the set of tools used by the staff of the Inspectorate. The I3TO's opinions on the role of technology, including key and breakthrough technologies in the weapon system, links and relationships between actors involved in the development of new solutions, form also a background to indicate the role and achievements of the Inspectorate in identifying interesting technical solutions from the defence point of view, initiating research projects and implementing the results into practical solutions in military equipment. The role of the adopted classification of technology readiness levels (PGT) is shown. Issues related to the management of intellectual property rights have also been pointed out. In conclusion, reference is made to the need to develop a consistent model of the system for the acquisition and use of military equipment applicable throughout the sector of national defence.

ANALYSIS OF THE POSSIBILITIES OF UNDERWATER CROSSING BY THE MG-20 ASSAULT BRIDGE, ANDRZEJ SZAFRANIEC, STANISŁAW TOMASZEWSKI

The article presents an analysis of the possibilities and limitations associated with negotiating a deep water obstacle on its bottom by the MG-20 assault bridge on tracked chassis. Various options for deep fording are analyzed and assessed: with the bridge span set on the chassis, with the bridge span raised, with the bridge span towed and with the bridge span submerged. Recommendations for future tests are set forth.

WORKING FLUID VOLUME COMPENSATION SYSTEM, MICHAŁ GRABIŃSKI

The article describes a working fluid volume compensation system developed and realized by OBRUM. The problem is presented and a solution is proposed by the author. The principles of the system operation are explained with the help of a block diagram. It discusses the main unit of the system, a patented electrically operated directional valve. The summary characterizes the benefits of using the proposed compensation system.

E-LEARNING AS A MODERN TEACHING TOOL, MAGDALENA ŚLUSARCZYK, MAREK GRABANIA

This article presents one of the most important e-learning distance learning tools. Areas of application, its advantages and disadvantages and limitations are discussed. Definitions of the following are provided: Learning Management System and Learning Content Management System. In addition, e-learning standards are outlined, particularly the SCORM standard for military use. The summary highlights the need for improving one's self-learning skills useful in e-learning

MILITARY E-LEARNING PLATFORM, TOMASZ STROJECKI, MICHAŁ DANISZ

A modern IT tool is presented: an e-learning platform used in military training. The objectives and tasks of the Polish military platform of the national defence sector (RON) are described. Administrator requirements and the security and protection measures applied with regard to the information available on the platform are discussed. The method of installing training aids, including virtual trainers developed at OBRUM available on the RON platform, is given.
