The year 2024 was a bustling period for OBRUM – PGZ’s Research and Development Center for Mechanical Equipment. The company consistently pursued its top priorities, advancing innovative technologies and strengthening the operational capabilities of the Polish Armed Forces.
Strategic Projects and Key Accomplishments
OBRUM successfully executed a long-term contract for the delivery of 43 MS-20 “DAGLEZJA” accompanying bridges. These modern structures are crucial for supporting military operations, and their scheduled deliveries from 2025 to 2028 form a solid foundation for collaboration with the Armament Agency. In parallel with the aforementioned project, OBRUM implemented modifications to the MS-20 bridges, adapting them to meet the latest operational requirements. The modernization program included enhancements to the control systems of the actuator arrangement, increasing the reliability and functionality of the equipment.
A significant achievement was the major overhaul of two Engineering-Road Machines (MID). Through modifications such as strengthening the drive system, introducing GPS systems, cameras, and additional equipment, the MID gained new capabilities for operating in extreme terrain and weather conditions.
OBRUM also supported the development of training infrastructure by participating in the equipment upgrade of the Air Force Training Center Lab in Koszalin. The modern KPA cabin, designed as a training platform for NUR-15 radar systems, exemplifies advanced technology that supports the professional development of personnel in the Polish Armed Forces.
In 2024, work resumed on the ORLIK UAV training systems project, and active participation was maintained in consultations with the Armament Agency regarding the MG-20 assault bridges, reinforcing the company’s position as an important player in the field of new advanced military solutions.
Successfully Concluded Investments in Manufacturing Infrastructure
The company completed the renovation of the production hall and established new warehouses, enhancing efficiency, logistics, and manufacturing operations.
Participation in Major Defense Industry Shows
OBRUM made its presence felt at key industry events such as Polsecure, MSPO, Eurosatory, as well as the Defense24 and IDA Bootcamp conference: Autonomous Systems for Poland’s Security, showcasing its innovative solutions and fostering strategic business relationships.
It is important to note that during MSPO OBRUM and Hyndai Rotem Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at developing a new assault bridge. This innovative project could be conducted by both companies based on components developed by OBRUM, such as the launching mechanism, control system, and PM-20 span integrated with the tracked chassis of Hyundai Rotem’s K2 MBT.
During MSPO, the company presented innovative simulators, including a desktop simulator for combat vehicle crews and a procedural simulator for MS-20 “DAGLEZJA” bridges. These advanced tools allow for realistic simulation of battlefield conditions, enabling soldiers to effectively hone their skills in safe environments while reducing the operating costs of military equipment.
OBRUM also showcased the OBRTrain platform, a modern tool for interactive training of soldiers in the technical operation of military equipment. Tailored to the specific requirements of the Polish Armed Forces, the platform provides an effective and flexible solution for enhancing personnel qualifications. Additionally, the company presented advanced design capabilities for engineering vehicles and combat platforms, which are key elements of Polish defense modernization. These technologies garnered significant interest from both domestic and international industry partners.
The year 2024 confirmed that OBRUM is a leader in developing advanced military technologies and a reliable partner for the Polish Armed Forces. Through dedication, innovation, modernization, and strategic projects, the company not only fulfills its commitments but actively contributes to building modern defense capabilities for Poland.
OBRUM is a steadfast partner for the Polish Armed Forces as well as for Polish and international defense industries.
